Were did all the artist go?

Today music is more popular than it probably ever was, due to its avilability. Its great and all but the more popular music gets the easier it is to see the lack of talent and music production of the genre, in this case rock. starting in the 60's rock and many stlyes like it were booming and the genre as a whole was on top of the music world.By the 70's late 80's it became even more popular and showed no signs of letting up. Groups and artist such as Guns and Roses, Velvet Revolver, Police, Jimmi Hendrix, Led zeppilin, Black Sabith, Stevie Ray vaughn and many others were the face of rock blues rock and so on. Eversince we left the 80's the genre has been suffering a great deals. With bands spliting up to artist dying the future didnt seem to bright. With all this happening there were a significant change in the number of influential artist and bands. Such a drought could bring the genre to harder times than its enduring now. With bands like Greenday and the Jonas brothers leading the way we all seem to be doomed about the years to come.

Steve Vai's signature strat

As much as I would love to talk about Steve Vai, its just not possible when thinkin about his signature Ibanez strat shaped guitar. It truly is a master piece. I personally I feel that its one of the more creative guitars made today. The handle shape on the base of the body is always an attention grabber along with its clean white rockish look. Unfortunately I was not able to play it because the guitar centers around here do not carry it. However based on reviews this is a must get guitar. Even though it is pretty pricy. The inlays of the guitar are brilliant stretching from one end of the fret board to another. It has gold hardware that makes sound quality a lot better than guitars without. It has 24 jumbo frets to allow people to hit higher notes, standard guitars have 21. It has a very rare set up, 2 single coil pickups and one humbucker that holds notes longer and gives it a very exotic sound. I encourage you all to go out and try it and let me know how it is.

White stripes

Jack white, for those of you who are not fimiliar with this name you should learn it because he will be the face for the next couple of years. Very over looked White has managed to find his way on Rolling Stones "Top 20 guitarist ever". That is a very big deal. Jack owns a style called elephant rock, which is very rare. He has a very unique way about himself and everything he does, whither its his lyrics and deliver or even if its his 1965 JB Hutto Montgomery Airline guitar thats grasp eyes from all over. There is literally no one like him and probably never will be. His music really hit the sky after he said," one day everything just changed, it was like the devil jumped in my body and took over" and this is when he began to solo. Jack is one of my favorite guitarist and his music is very enjoyable and always makes me want to pick up a guitar. His very special guitar is located at the top of this post click to take a closer look at it.

Where is G&L?

Everyone knows what company Fender is but if you ask the same people who fender is they most likely wouldnt know what or who G&L is. Leo Fender the creater of Fender guitars created a company called G&L which stands for George and Leo musical instruments. George was Leo's partner. After Leo left his company Fender and sold it his new free time gave him a lot to think about and then came his thoughts on creating a new line. G&L is all of his dying wishes mashed into one. He took his ideas that he created at Fender and came up with the innovative design of G&L guitars. G&L in the music world is known as a luxury line of guitars in Leo's name. He took took fender and basically modified anything and everything making it a work of art. Some of the most noticeable changes are the tremelo's bridges head stocks and the pickups. Leo created one last thing on this line of guitars that would set the distance he put an extra switch on the tone knob allowing guitarist to use a combination of pickups that were never able to be reached before.Leo finished the whole G&L concept a day before he died, it was fate. Leo had an entire line dedicated to him in memory of his craftsmanship and contribution to the music world, the line was called "legacy". I am fortunate enough to own a G&L Legacy strat, and it is my go to guitar, hands down the best line of guitars out now.

Carlos Santana Ghetto blues = PRS

Carlos santana one of the worlds best guitarist that music has ever seen and still watches now. At the ripe age of 65 Santana still goes strong and is still amazing as when he started in 66'. Everyone really knows santana for either "Maria, Maria", "Black Magic Woman", or "Samba Pa Ti". he has plenty of great songs but those stand out most. Carlos has mastered and owned something we call ghetto blues. This probably would not be possible with out his incredible machine. Santana uses many guitars but his signature is the "Santana II" by PRS. For about $3,000-$6,000 this monster can be yours. It has many great setups like his gold hardware that eliminates and buzzing what so ever. Special pick-ups so that you can hold notes longer and can get a poping twang sound while playing the blues and amongst other things the unique color. There are some of his videos at the bottom of the page enjoy!

Who is the man behind the hat?

This individual may not have a record deal, an albulm , or a signature guitar, but one thing he does have is skill and lots of it. He goes by the name of funtwo, at least on youtube. This phenom was discovered on the video captital youtube. Funtwo was recognized performing a cover called Canon Rock by Jerry .C. His flawless and effortless home video he put on had peopole across the worl holding their breath. He has about 60 million view and counting, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Many say that he plays the song better than Jerry .C, and I would have to agree. Funtwo may appear to be a kid but in fact he is an adult that attends college in New Zeland. He taught himself how to play after finding guitar lessons to be boring. He says that his main inspiration was the song, "It smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana. Almost anyone who has ever been on youtube has either heard of him or saw his famous video regardless of their backround. Funtwo plays an ESP black and gold strat shaped guitar. If you havent seen the breath taking voice scroll down to the bottom of the page and be prepared to be amazed. Enjoy!

Gretsch, its electric!

The very affordable gretsch corvette has all heads turning everywere. Gretsch has released a very slim, sleak, appealing guitar called the electromatic corvette. Instead of the basic Grestch look the company has stepped it up and gave this model a little more style with a few key specs. This guitar has a solid mahogany body with a maple neck and rosewood fret board styled mahogany over black. They give it new G- knobs for durability and style, vintage style headstock and chrome hardware. What really sets the red machine over the top is the Bigsby tail piece vibrato. The vibrato gives tail piece gives the guitar its unique style and sound to stand out from other models and guitarist. The tail piece can be put on other models but its prefiably place on grestch models. This work of art should not be seen as a purchase but an investment only running you $650. I have tried it and i have to say I had a good time. Grestch guitars really arent my style however I would recomend this to someone who can not make up their mind on what to get, you cant go wrong with this one.

Martin omc

Martin is the power house of acoustic guitars and is one of the first companies to produce wooden guitars. They are for serious players not unless you have 1k and up to spend on a guitar starting out. Even though there guitars are extremeley expensive and most likely not affordable and available to most I must say that they have every right to charge what they do. Picking up a Martin will change your life. The OMC single cut Martin, lightweight combined with its unforgettable sound makes it the most dangerous wood out there. Ita acoustic electric with a phase switch, low battery sensor, phase switches , and volume control. One of the specs i would like to call out because it is deffinatley over looked is the tunning knobs. The tunning knobs hold the guitar strings in tune for hours without hitting flat notes. On that note up and out, this guitar is a unicorn for the person who has $2,900 before taxes.

Top 5 reason's why you can not blame Jimmi hendrix for being the best.

Almost everybody knows who Jimmi hendrix is, and thats half the battle won. Jimmi Hendrix or "God" to people that play music, started a revolution. He single handedly created a genre of music and influenced the entire music world. His style of music is blues/rock and he created something called psychadelic rock. When the U.S did not appreciate it he took it to Europe became a guitar god and sent his amazing music vibes through the radio waves and shared with the world. He was an amazing performer there was no one who came close to as much style he had on stage, he not only used his guitar as an instrument but as a prop as well. He had a significant impact on their entire population it was a true movement. Everyone knows Hendrix for his guitar skills and they seem to over look his writing skills. He was very expressive and a lot of his songs had meaning deeper than the surface. Last but not least Hendrix's drug addiction, it sounds crazy but it helped him create the great music that was released. The drinking, pill popping, smokin and etc... helped him create a unique style of music. Unfortunatley it was also the cause of his death. It was more than obvious that he was in drugs when he composed most of his songs, and he even addmitted that it helped.
1. Pychadelic rock
2. Guitar skills
3. Song slyrics
4. Performance/audience
5. Drug abuse

Gibson SG fade, or fade out?

Gibson, a line of high end guitars has done a horrific job with their new SG fade. This model has been bashed by avid followers of gibson, along with past and present owners. So i took the time to see just how bad the gibson really was. I must agree with everyone, Gibson dissapointed me eventhough I am not a big fan of theirs.

To start off the setup that it comes with feels very unorthadox and uncomfortable. The bridge is extremeley high the neck is weird the frets are rough. To make it simple the guitar just sounds like rubish. This is truly what you would expect from Epiphone.(Epiphone, owned by Gibson. A more affordable version of Gibson they come out with exact models just less expensive). To make it even worst the running price for it is about $1,200. This price quickly changed to a measley $700 after about a month of sales and reviews. Personally I think Gibson should take the loss and pull this sorry excuse of a guitar of the shelves and stop scamming people.

New Fender Strat road worn series

Fender is one of the most nuturios companies for guitar production, and quality.Their recent re-issue of the 70's strat, and telecaster is their way of saying we were the best and stil are. These line of guitars were obviously produced in the 70's, but the question is what made fender bring the 70's back. Its vey simple, the road worn series brings you the feel of old gym sneakers that fit just right, or a well molded baseball glove that hsa been handed down from your father. The strat gives you versatility allowing anything you play to seems flawless. While the telecaster sends chills down your spine with its warm blusy tone. These guitars give you the feeling that everything just feels right weither its the chunky tele neck or the mid size strat neck.If that doesnt float your boat the single coil 5 way switch on the strat and the 2 hummbuckers with the 3 waay switch on the tele should do it for you.
I took time to play both the strat and the tele and i must say that i was very impressed. The strat just felt amazing the sound blew me away. The high and low notes were dead on and it gave the music a sound that you cant get today due to modifications. The telecaster was just as good its a true blues machine every note had a vibe that made me want to play until the store closed.
Fender has done a great job and the reviews and sales speak for themselves. Hopefully this was beneficial for you if you were looking to purchase this guitar or a new guitar period, and for entertainment purposes.
